Intro:
Paths of Change
Sixteen Years earlier –
“YOUR HIGHNESS! I don’t know how much longer we can hold them back! I suggest you and the Queen take the young princess and get to safety!” A burly man shouted out. As he said the man he spoke to looked over at him, he was dressed in royal robs, a crown on his head and a sword unsheathed at his side. His brown hair and green eyes flashed at the sound of the oncoming danger.
“Thank you my friend, but the Queen and I can not leave. We must stay and fight.” The man said to the solider before him.
“Then may I suggest sire, you send the princess to a safe haven? For her sake anyways.” The solider said respectfully.
The king looked to his queen, who held a young two year old child in her arms. The little girl with blonde hair and blue frightened eyes starred up at her father. The girl’s mother held her close to her. Her own blonde hair and crystal blue eyes showed the worry she too held.
“My darling it is up to you, though I think he is right. We should send Aster away for her safety. Should we get through this we can send for her, though if not we will know she is safe and that her destiny will still come to past.” The king told his wife as he looked down at the young child.
The queen looked down at her daughter and with a single tear in her eyes she spoke, “Her destiny has yet to come to pass. She must yield the crystal light and fight for truth and light. We must do what we must do. Should we loose this fight, the crystal will go to her when the time is right. We will guide her always on her path. We must send her now.” She looked down at her daughter once more and the little girl looked up, knowing and sensing something was wrong.
“We will always be with you my darling Aster. We will meet again soon, remember to follow your heart and be true to the light.” The queen said softly hugging the child. The king also hugged his daughter and the two disappeared down the halls of the palace. The came to a small room and entered it. They both walked over to a pedestal and sat the young child down on it. They placed a small crystal in the child’s hands and each kissed her forehead. The child looked up and started crying, feeling what was about to happen. She went to reach out for them, when a force field appeared around her, keeping her within the confines of the pedestal.
“We will always be with you my daughter. Be safe my sweet. The stars keep you till next we meet.” The queen said to her, trying to hold back her own tears at the sounds of the child’s screams and cries. As they watched her getting ready to disappear, they both turned to hear a noise coming down the hall. The king grabbed his wife and held onto her tightly, their backs turned to their daughter. The king raised his blade and the queen raised her left arm the crystal around her neck glowing. Then they both turned around and with a loving look, watched as their daughter disappeared, just as a blast came through the door, knocking the two royals backwards.
*************
Not far from the war field planet, a ship was making it’s way through space. On board a woman, man and young boy of whom looked to be about five years old. “Mama where are we going?” the young brown haired boy asked his mother.
“We are going to help King and Queen Devona, Brayden. The royal family needs our help son. I will count on you to help keep the princess safe, when we arrive.” The young boy nodded, he sat down looking around the room they were in. His father had gone off to tend to preparations, while him and his mother were getting ready. Just then an explosion was heard. The young boy turned around and then looked to his mother.
“MAMA!” He shouted, jumping to his feet.
“Brayden! Get in the closet and hide now! Do not come out till I come get you!” his mother said franticly. She watched as her son ran to the closet and hid, then ran out of the bedroom and into the hall. More explosions and sound of fire and swords were heard, screams soon filled the air and then silenced quickly. Brayden sat in the closet quietly and trying to stay calm. Just then the door opened and Brayden looked up to see a big man standing before him. He wore pirate garb and starred at the young boy. Brayden stood to his feet and soon ran at him with anger.
“WHERE’S MY MAMA AND PAPA!” he screamed, trying to be strong and courageous. The man laughed at him, picking up by the back of his shirt.
“Sorry little one, they be gone now. Ye be all that is left.” The man told him, he tossed Brayden on the bed and then turned and looked at him. He didn’t see any fear in his eyes, just anger. The man was ready to kill him right then and there, but instead he spoke again. “ I like ye courage, little one. I think I be keepin ye boy. Maybe if ye are lucky ye will I will take ye under me wing.” He told him. The man grabbed Brayden and carried him out of the room, under his arm. Brayden started kicking and screaming.
“LET ME GO! I AM THE PRINCE OF BELAR YOU CAN’T DO THIS TO ME! I WANT MY MAMA AND PAPA!” He shouted. The man laughed, not being phased by the little boy.
He walked onto his ship through the docking bay and as he did he told the young boy, “Ye are no longer a prince little boy. Ye past is over, ye be pirate now. This is yer future, defy it and ye will pay the ultimate price.” As the pirate ship pulled away, the ship that Brayden and his parents had been on blew up, not leaving a trace of the royal family from Belar.
