Twilight Creation
Hi there, if your here, than your interested in how this site came about. If that's the case, than I will be more than happy to tell you how that happened. First off you maybe wondering what the name Eurynome Twilight means and how I came up with it. That's simple, Eurynome is the Greek Goddess of the Elements she is described as "Universal One, Pelasgian Creatress Who Alone on the primordial ocean of Chaos until She brought the elements to order." I gathered this information from www.mothergoddess.com/gnames.htm and immediately loved the name. The fact that she was the Goddess that brought the Elements to order, tells me that she was more or less a Goddes who had that type of control. What does that have to do with me? Well I have a strange obessession for the elements. More or less the element of light. Plus when I picked this to be my personal site, I wanted something that reflected me as a person and the things that I was interested in. I also wanted to use something that was far from obvious and had a beautiful ring to it. Eurynome did just that for me.
As for the second half of the name, Twilight, well you see I have another secret obessession, one with the stars. No not stars as in celebraties, but stars as in the sky. I love looking at the stars at night and the different constellations as well. I had originally wanted to use the word, Lycoris. Since Lycoris means twilight, but Eurynome Lycoris just didn't have that roll off the tongue ring to it for me. So I decided to drop Lycoris and just go with the more obvious version, twilight. Once I put the two together, I quickly found that the combination was perfect for what I was looking for. It took me a good two days to figure out the name, but I have to say, once I did, I quickly became happy with it and so Eurynome Twilight was born.
Now as to why the site was made in the first place. As I mentioned in my profile page I am a student at CTU and I am currently taking a Website/Portfolio class. As a requirment I am to develop a website to present to my class. The catch...I have to write the HTML code myself. Now before taking this class, I had a very little idea of HTML. In fact I was trying to teach myself some, but I have only gotten as far as how to bold, italic, center, link things, change the font, the font color and images. So to add most of the stuff that you see here, has been more or less a journey for myself. One that I thought I would rather hate, but on the contray I have found that I rather enjoy it. I've always wanted to build a site, with great layouts and neat little things like music and cute images. But I never knew how to do that, since I didn't know how to do HTML. Now I do and trust me I am really excited. I plan to keep this site up and around after the class and turn it into a neat little project that I've had on my mind for some time now.
So that's the story of how it Eurynome Twilight came about. Funny it took taking a class, where I was forced to learn at least some HTML to build a site, just to get me to learn HTML in the first place. I have to say though, I am really glad I did and for anyone who might think that HTML is really hard, I encourage you to give it a try. With a good book to teach you HTML, you will find that it's not as hard as it appears to be. In fact it makes for one exciting journey!
